On June 26, 2014, Goldman Sachs, together with Bocconi University, hosted leading thinkers from academia and business at a conference in Milan to discuss the topic of “Deleveraging, Investing and Optimizing Capital Structure.”
To coincide with the conference, Bocconi University released a report which features thought-provoking analysis conducted by Stefano Gatti and Claudio Chiarella. The paper provides a framework for looking at the shifts in economic conditions and sentiment, and for interpreting and measuring the impact of different financing strategies - from return of capital to shareholders, to M&A, to the use of different funding instruments. Massimo Della Ragione of Goldman Sachs International wrote the introduction to this year's report, which can be viewed by clicking below.
