The Goldman Sachs Armed Forces Integration Program in India
Launched in 2014 in India, the 12-week Goldman Sachs Armed Forces Integration Program (AFIP) provides officers joining the workforce after serving in the armed forces with an opportunity to develop their professional skills, strengthen their understanding of financial services and prepare for future careers in the industry.
Goldman Sachs’ Bengaluru office hosted its third Armed Forces Integration Program, with 7 retired armed forces veterans participating in internships across the Operations and Engineering divisions. The 12-week internship ran from June 19 through September 8, 2017
The class included representatives from the India Army, Navy, and Air Force. Most interns have completed resettlement courses with premiere business schools in India prior to joining the internship program.
The program, which is a part of the firm’s strategy to hire diverse and exceptional talent, helps participants strengthen their understanding of the financial services industry and explore career opportunities at the firm.
The program began with a structured one-week orientation, followed by a curriculum focused on quick integration and building professional and technical skills. Interns also had opportunities to network with senior leaders.
