Lloyd Blankfein Announces 10,000 Women Program Reaches 5,000

The 10,000 Women program has reached 5,000 women – the midway point in its goal of providing 10,000 women around the world with business and management education, Chairman and CEO Lloyd Blankfein announced at the 13th annual Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit in Laguna Niguel, California.

Lloyd Blankfein unveiled the significant milestone to the 400 influential women gathered at the summit’s opening session. He also announced that 10,000 Women graduate Rasha Lotfy of Egypt and Maria Gabriela Hoch, a Fortune/State Department Mentoring Partnership program participant from Argentina, were the 2011 recipients of the fourth annual Goldman Sachs-Fortune Global Women Leaders Award.

The invitation-only Fortune summit gathers female executives from the private sector, government, academia, media and civil society.‪‪ The Global Women Leaders Award is part of a larger partnership between the firm and Fortune’s Most Powerful Women franchise, recognizing women who are leaders in business and their community.
