Then and Now: Anusha

09 AUG 2018

During the summer of 2015, we profiled interns from around the world in a blog series called My Summer at Goldman Sachs where they chronicled their individual experiences at the firm. While our new intern class continues their summer experience, we wanted to check in with our former interns from three years ago to get some of their reflections and updates on what they are doing now.

Anusha

Let’s catch up with Anusha, an analyst in the Operations Division to see what she is up to now.

Internship: Regulatory Due Diligence within the Operations Division in Bengaluru

Current Role: Regulatory Due Diligence within the Operations Division in Bengaluru

Path since the internship:

After reflecting on what I wrote in my blog post three years ago, I think it was evident how eager I was to work at Goldman Sachs, a place with strong values and a rich culture. I do not think the zeal and enthusiasm has changed or faded over time. The past three years have been filled with opportunity, for example I work in a client-facing role which provides me varied opportunities to positively influence client experience, to better my communication skills, and to gain more knowledge in the world of derivatives from a regulatory standpoint. I do not think there is ever a dull moment.

A significant change over the years has been my promotion to senior analyst. It was empowering to discover that the firm offers you greater responsibility when you show you are ready to shoulder them. I received constant support throughout the transition. Accompanying the change in title were the varied new learning opportunities like greater involvement in projects, exposure to global teams, working with senior managers, etc. Through this transition I understood and learned to appreciate the significance of the support system the firm offers each individual while growing in the firm.

Question from a 2018 Summer Analyst: What part of your job gets you up in the morning?

Anusha: Every day is a day to learn and to grow at Goldman, and that is a tremendous motivation to come to work and give it a 100% effort.
