Goldman Sachs Named Among Fortune Magazine’s ‘100 Best Companies to Work For’

03 MAR 2016

Fortune magazine named Goldman Sachs No. 51 on the 2016 "100 Best Companies to Work For" list. The firm has been one of only five companies to be selected to the annual list each year since Fortune adopted the initiative 19 years ago.

"The Wall Street firm's employees love working here, hence its presence on the list every year since it was first published in 1998," Fortune says.

In a profile published online and in the March 7 print edition of the business magazine, Fortune highlighted the firm’s focus on health and resilience, including on-site fitness and health centers in the New York, Jersey City and Chicago offices, as well as hosting an annual Resilience Week.

"Our people are our single most important asset when it comes to our ability to deliver for our clients. We aim to provide our people an unmatched career experience in terms of constantly having new opportunities to learn and grow," said Edith Cooper, global head of Human Capital Management. "This recognition reflects the firm’s commitment to creating an environment where all of our people can reach their full potential and make an impact every single day."

To identify the 100 Best Companies to Work For, each year Fortune partners with Great Place to Work to conduct the most extensive employee survey in corporate America.

Two-thirds of a company’s survey score is based on the results of the Trust Index Employee Survey, which is sent to a random sample of employees from each company. This survey asks questions related to employees’ attitudes about management’s credibility, overall job satisfaction, and camaraderie. The other third is based on responses to the Culture Audit, which includes detailed questions about pay and benefit programs and a series of open-ended questions about hiring practices, methods of internal communication, training, recognition programs, and diversity efforts.
