This summer, Goldman Sachs sponsored the 2018 Student Art Project themed "Building the Future, Story by Story" where students from Jersey City public schools learned about issues impacting their communities and created their own artistic interpretations of those lessons, which are now on exhibit outside our offices in Jersey City.

Goldman Sachs has partnered with The Salvadori Center to sponsor the 2018 Student Art Project. The students’ art for this year’s theme “Building the Future, Story by Story” reflects the city’s rich history, promising future, and evolution over time. Banners of the students’ artwork are exhibited along the Hudson River waterfront esplanade outside the firm’s Jersey City building and will remain on exhibit through the fall of 2019.

Through the Student Art Project,  students engaged in a series of free arts and education workshops that exposed them to new artistic mediums, environments and friends within their community. The goal of this year’s program and exhibition is to promote the importance of careers in architecture, engineering, and real estate, and how those occupations have contributed to Jersey City’s history and growth. The students and their families celebrated their final masterpieces at an opening reception hosted by Goldman Sachs at its Jersey City offices on October 18th.

The Salvadori Center supported the Student Art Project program—now in its 14th season—to promote careers in STEM and the history of real estate development in Jersey City. Each day of the program featured an educational field trip and artmaking which were provided in partnership with Liberty Science Center, the Jersey City Office of Cultural Affairs, Hudson County Community College, New Jersey City University, Silverman Properties, and local artist Jesse Wright.
