Goldman Sachs Analysts Win Funding for Nonprofits in Internal Global Competition

As part of the Goldman Sachs Gives Analyst Impact Fund competition, analysts around the world vied for a first-place grant towards a nonprofit of their choice. The winning team of five analysts was awarded $100,000 in support of Bayes Impact, a nonprofit that builds open-source software products for disadvantaged citizens.

Six finalist teams presented to Goldman Sachs Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Lloyd Blankfein and the firm’s partnership committee on June 7.

"If you would have told me a few years ago that as a second-year analyst at Goldman, I would have the opportunity to be pitching to Lloyd Blankfein and the partnership committee on behalf of an organization that I vehemently believed in ... I would tell you you're crazy," Olivia Benjamin, a member of the winning analyst team, told Business Insider.

The Analyst Impact Fund was launched in March 2016 to give analysts a platform to make a difference in the community early on in their careers.
