Goldman Sachs in Brazil

As Brazil's economy continues to grow, we are expanding our Private Wealth Management services for local clients.

Goldman Sachs’ Private Wealth Management (PWM) office recently launched in Sao Paulo, Brazil, offering clients the ability to invest in onshore products denominated in Reais. The launch complements the existing offshore capabilities offered for Brazilian clients to include equity and fixed income brokerage, mutual funds, alternative investments, futures, derivatives and structured products.

Goldman Sachs’ coordination between onshore and offshore platforms offers a full array of services on an open architecture, offering proprietary and independent investment options for clients.

The recent launch of Goldman Sachs’ PWM onshore platform creates a full-service business, including Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), the Investment Banking Division, Global Investment Research and Securities Division.

As part of the recent expansion and to meet the needs of a diversified set of clients, GSAM recently announced the offering of a family of funds for onshore investors. Three new funds were launched including: Goldman Sachs Renda Fixa Plus FIC FI, an active fixed income fund; Goldman Sachs Multiestratégia FIC FIM, a multi-strategy hedge fund; and Goldman Sachs Ibovespa Plus FIC FIA, an active equity fund.

Goldman Sachs’ history in Brazil dates to 1995. The scale of recent transactions continues to set us apart such as the June 2009 VisaNet IPO and the 2008 Bovespa merger with BM&F.

Goldman Sachs’ Securities Division established an onshore platform in 1997. The Securities Division focus in Brazil is on foreign exchange and interest rate products, and it continues to build its credit and commodities platforms.

In addition, the firm’s Equities Research team covering Latin America is led out of Brazil.
