Paul Russo is Global Co-Chief Operating Officer of the Equities Franchise. He is a member of the Management Committee, Firmwide Risk Committee, Firmwide Conduct and Operational Risk Committee, Securities Division ExecComm and Securities Division Volcker Committee. Mr. Russo is also Co-Chair of the Goldman, Sachs & Co. and Goldman Sachs Execution & Clearing, L.P. Securities Division Execution Standards Review Committee.
Mr. Russo first joined Goldman Sachs in New York in 1989 as a summer associate in Trading and Arbitrage. He rejoined the firm full time in 1990 in US Equity Derivatives, ultimately becoming responsible for the Portfolio Trading business and the Index Volatility business and co-heading the US Volatility product. In 1997, he moved to Hong Kong to assume responsibility for the Asia Ex-Japan Equity Derivatives business. In 2000, he became Co-Head of the Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities Division in Asia Ex-Japan. In 2002, Mr. Russo transferred back to the Equities Division in London to head the Equity Derivatives business in Europe. In 2003, he was named Co-Head of European Equity Product Group Trading. In 2004, he returned to New York and later became Co-Head of Global Equity Derivatives. Prior to assuming his current role, Mr. Russo was Head of US Equities Trading and Head of Global Equities One Delta Trading. He was named Managing Director in 1998 and Partner in 2000.
Mr. Russo is a member of the Advisory Board of the Carnegie Mellon University Computational Finance (MSCF) Program.
