Real Estate Alternatives (REA) focuses on the management of targeted real estate related funds and making strategic real estate related investments for Goldman Sachs. REA’s first investment vehicle is Goldman Sachs Real Estate Partners (GSREP), which targets opportunistic returns by creating exclusive relationships with and investing alongside successful real estate operators.
- Identify areas of the real estate universe that provide attractive risk/reward for targeted real estate funds or strategic balance sheet investments
- Focus on smaller deals that are inefficient for larger investment funds
- Create partnerships or make minority investments with successful real estate operators, developers and investment managers
- Manage niche real estate funds or separate accounts for important clients of Goldman Sachs
