Real Estate Alternatives was formed in 2006 to identify interesting real estate related investments for targeted funds and for Goldman Sachs.

Investment Vehicles managed by REA include i) Goldman Sachs Real Estate Partners (GSREP), a $700 million fund which targets opportunistic returns by creating exclusive relationships with and investing alongside successful real estate operators and ii) US Real Estate Opportunities I, a $2 billion fund focused on acquiring high quality reitable assets.

REA has also made strategic investments with successful real estate developers/managers including MacFarlane Partners, the Related Companies, Greystar and Goldenbridge.
