As of December 31, 2007, the Goldman Sachs Private Equity Group (PEG) manages over $24.3 billion across primary commitments, co-investments and secondary-market investments, with over $1.9 billion invested by Goldman Sachs and its employees. Our investors include corporate pensions, public pensions, financial institutions, endowments, foundations and select individuals around the world.

Global Diversified Fund-of-Funds
The Private Equity Partners Funds is a global private equity fund-of-funds program that aims to create a diversified portfolio comprised of various private equity strategies. We focus on choosing talented managers and building portfolios, providing broad exposure to such strategies as leveraged buy-outs; growth and venture capital; distressed, turnaround, industry focused and structured investments; and natural resources.

Secondaries, Structured Portfolios and Liquidity Solutions
The Vintage Funds provide liquidity solutions to existing investors in private equity. Sourcing opportunities around the world, the funds acquire and value interests in existing limited partnerships and interests in portfolios of direct company investments. The funds also provide customized capital solutions for general partners, structuring funded portfolios involving co-investments and select primary commitments.

Sector Specific and Geography Focused Fund-of-Funds
We develop unique strategy, sector and regionally focused fund-of-funds to provide our investors with diversified exposure to distinct market opportunities. Our Distressed Opportunities program is a recurring offering that makes commitments to funds that invest in companies experiencing financial or operational distress, as well as other special situations. Other fund offerings include specialized programs in healthcare, energy, emerging managers, Europe focused and Asia focused.
