Anna Wintour: The Evolution of Fashion in Media

An iconic figure in modern fashion, Anna Wintour has served as editor-in-chief of Vogue since 1988 and artistic director of Condé Nast since 2013. Wintour visited Goldman Sachs for a Talks at GS session, where she discussed her experiences in publishing and expanding Vogue’s digital footprint.

On the digitization of print: "Now [print publications] can talk to our audiences through mobile, websites, videos, books, events and movies. We have all these different channels. Flux is the new normal. You have to be completely open to trying new things and realizing that traditional ways won’t always work."

On the changing relationship between designers and fashion houses: "Big fashion houses, who a few years ago were always looking at investing in designers and wanting to own their companies completely, are now really looking at taking a minority stake in designers. They have to learn to work with creative designers and their needs and be much more flexible."
