China E-Commerce: The Next Leg of Growth

The world’s largest e-commerce market is on track to double by 2020, according to Goldman Sachs Research’s Ronald Keung, as online retailers better leverage brick-and-mortar in what he calls an “e+commerce” approach to sales. The combination of improved logistics and inventories located closer to consumers should allow new categories like grocery and healthcare to move online, all while China’s base of online shoppers continues to grow.

 

The combination of online and offline channels… is enabling a much shorter delivery time, from the time of ordering to the time of receiving the package.
