Supplier Diversity in Europe

Supplier diversity is concerned with ensuring that all businesses – irrespective of their owners’ race, ethnicity, disability and gender – have the same opportunities to compete for the supply of goods and services as other qualified suppliers. We believe that by broadening our supplier base we will gain access to new ideas and increase competition. This will better serve our customers, stakeholders and the communities we serve and work.

Goldman Sachs partners and supports several organizations with the mission of raising awareness for Supplier Diversity in Europe and seeking opportunities for under-represented businesses. Working with these organizations, we engage in the following activities:

  • Develop an effective framework to promote supplier diversity
  • Take action where possible to remove/minimise any barriers within our organisations that may prevent under-represented businesses supplying goods and services to us
  • Develop programmes to encourage and empower under-represented businesses
  • Monitor and evaluate our programme on a continuing basis to assess its impact
  • Develop internal and external databases of under-represented businesses
  • Raise awareness for supplier diversity by building a strong business case for doing business with under-represented businesses
  • Communicate and benchmark the progress we make
  • Communicate best practices for implementing supplier diversity
  • Participate in internal and external networking events with under- represented businesses
