At Goldman Sachs, we not only value diversity from an internal standpoint, but we also strive to create vehicles for driving its importance through to our clients. On several occasions we have had opportunities to reach our clients with respect to diversity and demonstrate to the external community how critical diversity is to our core values and business strategy. Some recent examples of our work in this area include:
- Urban Investment Group is a long-term capital partner for a wide range of minority and urban ventures. UIG makes corporate and real estate investments of $5 million to $50 million across an array of industries, project types and financial structures.
- Our Supplier Diversity Program provides minority-owned and women-owned businesses with the opportunity to compete on a fair and equal basis for our business and, most importantly, gives business owners the opportunity to expand and grow their businesses.
- ascend, A Goldman Sachs Leadership Exchange is a global series that brings together influential women business leaders with our own senior professionals to discuss politics and government, economics and business, thereby advancing existing and future business relationships.
- Client Advisory Opportunities allow us to exchange diversity best practices and share our ideas on broader talent management practices with clients, beyond our traditional advisory services.
- Benchmarking and Diversity Roundtables enable us to regularly assess our progress in the area of diversity relative to “best in class” companies.
- Client Events provide a platform to advance relationships with targeted key diverse clients. Some past events have included the Securities Women's Golf Outing, Girl’s Day and the Black Business Forum.
