The collective size of the economies of the New EU Member States (NMS) is about the same as that of the smaller BRICs: Brazil or Russia. By 2050, NMS GDP could grow to $5.3trn and average GDP per capita could be $65,000, compared with $1.2trn and $11,400 today. We forecast potential growth in the NMS at around 4% per annum for the next ten years. It could be even higher with better economic policies.
