India’s 63 million micro, small, and medium enterprises are the backbone of the country’s economy, yet women-owned businesses face hurdles that hinder their growth. To unlock the potential of women entrepreneurs, Goldman Sachs’ 10,000 Women provides business education, mentor networks, and access to external capital. This investment has a significant impact across India: on average, within a year and a half of graduating from the program, participants quadruple their revenue, double their staff, and create five additional jobs. This infographic was created based on the program’s Monitoring and Evaluation database, which includes data collected from Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women alumni between 2008 and 2022, as well as data collected from a supplemental survey issued in 2022 that was completed by 619 Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women alumni and a control group of 334 women entrepreneurs in India who have not participated in the program.
