I have found the inner strength and security that I needed in order to engage in certain initiatives. And with the program, I've gained more trust in myself.

Business Overview

My partners and I started Móveis Planejar Indústria e Comércio de Móveis Planejados Ltda. in August 2004, after the former owner gave up on the business. We manufacture furniture for retail and wholesale, mostly in the central region of Belo Horizonte.


Before going through the 10,000 Women program, our main customers were retail stores in Belo Horizonte that purchased wholesale through small weekly orders. The business was unstable because these clients had other suppliers and we were there, lost in the middle, competing with competition that had more resources.

We did not have a strategy at that time. We encountered many difficulties with cash flow due to lack of experience and also due to lack of resources. When I enrolled in 10,000 Women, we were just coming out of a crisis due to non payment from a client and we only employed nine employees.


Since graduating from 10,000 Women, I have learned the importance of capital and investing in new machines to lower labor costs. I have also learned a lot about myself and discovered my capacity to set goals.

Due to the training I received through 10,000 Women, we created an organizational chart of our employees, changed the layout of the factory, acquired new management software, purchased a delivery truck, structured our HR department and developed a website.

We have hired an additional 31 employees, bringing our total to 40 employees, all of whom are formalized.

We have secured more contracts and plan to grow even more as a new commercial area is built in Belo Horizonte.

Since graduating from 10,000 Women, our revenues have increased three-fold compared to previous months.

Future Goals

I plan to open new retail stores to sell the furniture I manufacture in the highest income neighborhoods in Belo Horizonte.

I also plan on hiring a team focused on projects development and sales, forming a commercial department in the company with trained sales representatives, capable of meeting the demand for the region. This will generate new hirings and consequently, the acquisition of new equipment, an increase in my physical infra-structure, and new distribution points.

Our business will grow, without limitations, because we aim to sell our product throughout the whole country.
