Boosting UK Small Business Growth

Today in Birmingham, Goldman Sachs and the Department for International Trade are bringing together over 300 graduates of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses programme (10KSB) from every region of the UK.
This comes as a new 10KSB survey shows that half of the 10KSB graduates are exporting, with 71% planning to increase their exports over the next 12 months.
The survey also found that 60% of 10KSB businesses who export have sought advice for exporting. By collaborating together we aim to help businesses further their confidence and skills to access new global markets and expand their international footprint.
The Department for International Trade supports UK companies to succeed in the global marketplace by helping them take advantage of new opportunities and 10KSB teaches participants the importance of market expansion both domestically and internationally and provides skills and techniques to help businesses innovate their products and services to help drive growth.
The event, which is hosted by Richard Gnodde, CEO for Goldman Sachs International and in collaboration with DIT, brings leading entrepreneurs and government to support graduates of 10KSB boost their business and expand their growth through exporting opportunities.
We will be joined by experts across multiple sectors of the small business ecosystem, including: Mayor of the West Midlands, Andy Street CBE; Founder and Chairman of Cobra Beer, Lord Bilimoria; Founder of Not on the High Street, Holly Tucker; and co-Founder and CTO of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Tamara Lohan.
International trade and innovation are key drivers of growth, and we are seeing small businesses seize demand for British goods and services across the world.
We know that finding new markets and new clients is critical to the success of a business, and we are excited to continue working together to help small businesses position themselves effectively for global expansion.

Goldman Sachs surveyed the 10,000 Small Businesses (10KSB) UK community to examine the reality of accessing new markets as an ambitious small business in the UK. We found that this subset of the UK business population is optimistic, driven, and internationally minded.
