Application Overview

Step 1: Plan Your Timeline

2018 Summer and Full-Time Analyst Program applications open July 15. We review applications and extend offers on a rolling basis, which means we may fill all available spaces for some divisions and locations prior to the application deadline.

Step 2: Choose Your Path

We offer tools like our people profiles, divisional descriptions and GS Snapshots to help you explore what it’s like to work at Goldman Sachs. Read our Careers Blog for advice and tips about the recruiting process and to stay up-to-date on Goldman Sachs news.

What to keep in mind:

  • You can apply to up to three roles (combination of division and location). When choosing which divisions you apply to, reflect on your strengths and interests. Because the same skills may translate to multiple divisions, we encourage you to learn about all of the opportunities at Goldman Sachs before you make a decision.

Step 3: Connect With Us

Register at My GS Events to sign up for our virtual and in-person events including information sessions, skill building workshops, conferences, panel discussions, networking events and more.

What to keep in mind:

  • Don’t worry if you’re not able to meet us in person. We offer a range of opportunities to learn about our firm both online and via virtual events
  • Your school careers office can help you connect with alumni working at Goldman Sachs. There may also be campus ambassadors at your school who can share their experiences as former interns.
  • Note: Use a consistent email address across all Goldman Sachs portals (event and job application)

Step 4: Apply Online

Now that you’ve learned more about Goldman Sachs, it’s time to submit your application. Our application instructions are simple to follow, but if you need help or technical support, check our FAQs or email careersfeedback@gs.com. Check out our Application Checklist to ensure you have all the necessary information.

What to keep in mind:

  • As you fill out your application, you can save your progress and return at any time. Keep in mind you will not be able to make updates to your application after you submit.

What happens next:

  • We evaluate applications throughout the recruiting season. You may hear back regarding different roles at different times.
  • Check your application status anytime by logging into the application portal. Whether or not we are able to offer you an interview, you’ll hear from us shortly after you submit your application to confirm we've received it, later on in the season with a status update, and at the end of the season.

Step 5: Interview With Us

We encourage all majors to apply, and will consider extracurricular activities, academic standing and work experience when selecting candidates to interview. If selected, you will be asked to participate in a virtual interview, after which a member of our team will reach out with next steps.

What to keep in mind:

  • Engineering applicants will be asked to complete a technical assessment as a first step in the interview process.
  • Interviews can take place via live or pre-recorded video, over the phone or at one of our offices. Review video interview preparation resources and take a practice question, if available. Most second round interviews will take place in-person at a Goldman Sachs office.
  • Some candidates may be invited to interview for more than one office or division. You may find yourself working with different members of our recruiting team. Interview timelines vary so you may hear back regarding the roles you’ve applied for at different times.
  • Typically, we conduct between two and five interviews for campus hires, depending on the division. You can expect to meet a cross-section of people whom you could possibly work with.
