It’s quite common for me to have many projects – in multiple countries - going on at one time. Right now I’m working on the fire safety design of two new buildings currently under construction in India. I am also working on a large office move and the development of a fire evacuation strategy for high-rise buildings in another Asian country. These three projects mainly focus on improving fire safety through building design, building operational control and management.

As the role of fire safety manager is new to the region, the main challenge for me is to help alter people’s attitudes to fire safety so that they understand the importance of fire prevention and preparedness in relation to life safety and business continuity.

Witnessing improvements to Fire Safety is very rewarding. We have already been able to provide added value to some of the newer office Asia locations by improving the occupancy number, reducing cost and possible shortening of the construction time.
