I work in the Credit Risk Management & Advisory Group. Our daily responsibilities include controlling, measuring and monitoring firm’s credit exposures based on counterparty analysis and the firm’s overall derivative portfolios. To do this, we have interactions with sales people and traders. Another part of our job is to provide rating advisory services to external clients.

Because our mandates are divided into two big categories, risk management and credit rating advisory, we are required to do a lot of multi-tasking on the job. Not only does the job require everyone to do many things at once, but also it requires us to sometimes think differently from the firm’s perspective and sometimes from external clients’ perspectives. I like to think from various perspectives and look at things from multiple aspects. I enjoy my industry coverage, sovereign. It’s interesting to interact with government officials regularly and hear what they say about various policies, country’s strengths and views on various issues.

My work is very much team based because team members usually share the analysis work and also discuss together to create the final recommendation. Everyone is heard in the discussion process and it really helps us in having balanced views on different issues.
