I did an MSc IT conversion course at UCL after my BSc in Chemistry at King’s College London. I joined Goldman Sachs in 2000, via the Technology Graduate training programme.
My university's career services alerted me to opportunities for people with technology backgrounds at Goldman Sachs. A few weeks after applying, I was invited in for a series of interviews. Right from the start, the friendliness of the people at the firm impressed me. I was interviewing with another investment bank at the same time, but when the offer arrived from Goldman Sachs, I knew what I wanted. I joined the firm as a Technology Associate and found out right away just how right my instincts had been. On my first day, my manager took me around and introduced me individually to everyone I'd be working with at the end of my 12-week training program. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful.
