The support role can be challenging. The environment we manage is critical for part of the firm’s business, so there is always a lot of focus when there are issues in this space. Problems need to be resolved quickly and efficiently.
The team has numerous projects running in parallel. Low latency is critical to our business, and one of our biggest challenges is to provide network environments that meet those requirements. Currently I am involved in a related project, running with tight time lines. This has given me the opportunity to work with an array of other teams across technology.
I enjoy all parts of my job, as I am being constantly stretched and challenged. I can honestly say that no two days are the same. One of my biggest achievements was being part of the Moscow office fire recovery team in April 2007. This involved setting up a Business Continuity Planning (BCP) site so Goldman Sachs in Moscow could continue business.
