I work in the Operations division of Beijing Gao Hua, a strategic partner of Goldman Sachs. Over the past two and a half years, my experience in the firm has provided me with extensive exposure to various functions within Operations, including Asset Servicing, Treasury, and Trade Processing. It also has enhanced my knowledge around safeguarding clients’ assets and efficient usage of proprietary funds, and I have learned the criticality of ensuring adequate control to mitigate risks.

Working in a small office like Beijing, I’ve had the luxury of switching my functions several times so that I’ve been able to get a broader view of different areas within Operations.

Operations is a place where team work is highly valued: The success of any individual lies not only in your own excellence but also in how you cooperate with others and perform as a team. The nature of the business in China has also expanded my understanding of the broader sense of team work within the firm through the intensive work relationships in day-to-day functions and projects.
