I was first introduced to Goldman Sachs through campus recruiting at Cornell and was able to meet representatives through an information session and career fair on campus. I interviewed both on campus and through a Goldman Sachs super day in New York City. Throughout the fall recruiting process, I also interviewed with a number of other firms. My decision to work at Goldman Sachs felt like the best fit for me and was reinforced by the firm’s reputation, its team-oriented culture and the colleagues I met.
Our first two weeks consisted of firm-wide training, followed by training with incoming CSRE counterparts globally. The speaker series provided exposure to many senior leaders at the firm and a broad understanding of how each division contributes to the firm. As the days continued, each leader was more impressive and motivational. It was exciting to be in a new environment filled with so much positive energy. The most memorable speakers were John Thain, who spoke on his experiences at the firm, and the famous mountain climber Allison Levine, who spoke of how crucial it was to have teamwork when climbing the world’s highest seven peaks.
