I manage up to three audit reviews at a time. Although some assignments are individual, I usually work as part of a small team of two or three and interact with the businesses when needed. Every day presents a new challenge or opportunity. One day I might be meeting with some of the most senior individuals at the firm to discuss a report, and the next day I could be preparing to visit our operations somewhere as far away as Johannesburg.

I was recently in Dubai reviewing our operations in the United Arab Emirates. It’s been an extremely fascinating assignment, not just because of the opportunity to travel which allows me to observe and interact with a different culture, but because I am getting to understand the business drivers and environment Goldman Sachs finds itself operating in. This project has once again reminded me how adaptable and focused the firm is when people are asked to work in other regions. I also see how the diversity of our people becomes the firm’s strength as it moves into new opportunities.
