I work in the Global Compliance division of Goldman Sachs, specifically in E-Communications Compliance. At its most fundamental level, the Compliance division advises specific business units on how to comply with the rules and regulations that govern our industry.
My role here is multifaceted. One of my tasks is to monitor and review an area of the firm’s communications. Another aspect of my job is reporting. I am responsible for generating our global team’s report for senior management which reflects, on a global level, our accomplishments and direction.
Because my job is heavily geared towards clients, I travel to various Goldman Sachs offices. Aside from the immediate appeal of the travel, I also really enjoy getting to know my internal clients on a personal level. Developing those personal relationships promotes teamwork and provides me with a better basis for engineering my work to suit their individual needs. For me, this is the most interesting part of my job here – understanding my clients’ expectations so that I can anticipate their needs.
