I work in the Equities division of Technology, developing and servicing high-frequency, low-latency applications for trading systems. Basically, our apps make the trades happen.

Our work is definitely very team-based: Everything I do involves the team, and we constantly check with each other to make sure that we are in sync. This is especially critical as global markets continue to become more electronic and instantaneous; to make it seamless, we need total collaboration between our business and technology groups.

I get to travel a lot for my work: In my first two years I went to London, India and Tokyo to work on different systems there. The firm encourages global mobility; it also encourages internal mobility. There are many opportunities to prove your value to the firm, and to be rewarded for it, with teamwork. You raise yourself up by raising up your team.
