I am currently working in Tokyo. I relocated here from the New York office. For me, the best part of such an opportunity is getting an Asian perspective on the firm. It’s a great experience because you get to witness cultural differences first-hand and so begin to understand how to better work with different regions. It has become more and more critical to develop this ability as, increasingly, more clients trade globally with the firm.
The most challenging part is coordinating between several different groups, teams and regions. Scheduling conference calls between India, Hong Kong, Tokyo, London and New York is a challenge! The electronic marketplace is extremely competitive, and in order to stay on top we must constantly meet our vast client demands, which are different in each region of the world.
