I work in the Private Wealth Management (PWM) Compliance division at Goldman Sachs, managing the day-to-day functions of the PWM Compliance Operations team in Bangalore, India. This means that we support our colleagues globally with a number of PWM Compliance functions who advise and monitor the business unit of PWM on complying with the various rules and regulations of our industry.

The most interesting aspect of my job is the people with whom I interact. First of all, the people on my team are excellent and are a pleasure to work with. All aspects of my job are very team-based, so that’s important! In addition, we support a number of functions globally, so I get to meet with a number of people across regions within and outside of PWM, which I find very interesting and useful.

The most interesting aspect of my job is also the most challenging. Because we interact with people across various regions, I need to ensure that my team in Bangalore and our colleagues across the other regions understand and appreciate intercultural differences in order to help promote clear communication, break down barriers, build trust and ultimately strengthen our relationships with our colleagues.
