Opened as a representative bureau in 1993, our Seoul office became a branch in November 1998. Goldman Sachs was granted a local banking license in June 2006. Through Goldman Sachs International Bank, the firm began to provide a broader range of financial services and products, including foreign exchange, interest rate, and related products to our Korean and international clients.  In October 2007, the firm acquired a local asset manager, through which Goldman Sachs Asset Management has established a meaningful presence in the Korean marketplace.
