In April 2004, Goldman Sachs launched its operations in Bangalore to provide world-class support and services to the firm's global businesses. Today, the Bangalore office is an integral part of the firm’s global footprint.

Our Mumbai office opened in May 2006, with the intention of building a wholly owned onshore investment banking and securities presence in India. In addition to the creation of a full-service domestic presence, the firm's India strategy will encompass businesses including principal investing and asset management.

The creation of a wholly owned financial services firm in India will enhance the overall strength of our company. By bringing together our global brand and expertise with local teams, we are better positioned to serve our clients worldwide.

The growth at our India offices, from 200 to 2,100 employees in three short years, has resulted in a very exciting work atmosphere. Key to this successful growth is the speed with which people have embraced and embodied the firm’s core values of teamwork and respect.
