New Associates with an MBA, Ph.D. or several years of experience in business begin their careers at Goldman Sachs by participating in an induction and training program covering a number of key topics critical to their success.

These include:

  • Immersion in Goldman Sachs' culture and history
  • Introductions to Equities and Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities’ global businesses and functions
  • Relationship and network building both within your training class and with professionals throughout the divisions and the firm globally
  • Product-specific and function-specific skills development

During this period, you will study for the professional exams required by your desk, as well as spend a significant amount of time shadowing professionals on various desks. The training includes a strong social aspect to start you on the road to building your network. After the completion of the program, you will begin work on the particular desk to which you have been assigned.

The division provides a supportive and collaborative environment in which to develop your career. Following the initial training program, you will be enrolled in the Continuing Education program, which is designed to develop product, technical and professional skills in line with business and your own development needs.
