Typically, new associates have two to five years of work experience and/or an advanced degree, such as an MBA, in business or another field.

Associates are hired to research and analyze companies within specific industries or industry segments, and can expect to:

  • Receive on-the-job learning complemented by formal training
  • Immediately begin developing expertise in specific industries through direct communication with company management
  • Publish reports on companies and industries
  • Market to a wide range of clients, including our investing, sales and trading clients
  • Develop lasting relationships with Goldman Sachs executives and senior client executives

The Associate Program is available in our New York and Asia offices. In all other regions, associates are hired on an ad-hoc basis, when a suitable and specific position becomes available.
