Bengaluru Office Welcomes Strats Student Hires to Spend a Day at Goldman Sachs
Eighty-seven students traveled from universities across India to spend a day at the Bengaluru office on March 20, 2015. Upon graduation they will join our Strats business, a world leader in developing quantitative and technological techniques to solve complex business problems. They will be working within various trading, operations, finance, sales, banking and investment management teams.
Students arrived the night before and were welcomed at a dinner hosted by the India Campus Recruitment team. The next day’s agenda was packed with panels, discussions and networking opportunities with senior leaders and other members of the firm.
Here are some of the highlights from the event:
- Tushar Patel, a vice president in our Investment Management Division, moderated a panel discussion of junior and senior Goldman Sachs employees focused on professional development at the firm, higher education, mobility and career paths.
- Francois J. Rigou, managing director, head of Asia Pacific Trading, Securities Division, hosted a video conference discussion on the importance of the strats/quants in the banking industry.
- V. Bunty Bohra, CEO Bengaluru hosted a fireside chat and shared insights on his life and career at the firm. In addition, he hosted a dinner for the students, and also attended by the Bengaluru Operating Committee, Executive Committee, and invitees from the Executive Office, Bengaluru.
- Paul Walker, co-head of the Technology Division hosted a video conference session, on the importance of technology in the firm and its imperative role in defining the firm’s success.
