'Code GS' - Goldman Sachs Hackathon

Demonstrate your creative coding skills at CodeGS, our second annual hackathon, by building web components that could be deployed into the Goldman Sachs Marquee® framework. Marquee is our open architecture web technology platform for electronically delivering a variety of cutting-edge services and capabilities to institutional clients. 

CodeGS challenges you to build a creative and innovative component using APIs and integrations of your choosing. Apply to participate and meet fellow developers from the area while learning about our work in engineering. 

CodeGS is open to current students (registered and studying at a University in the United States) and recent graduates who are invited by Goldman Sachs to participate. Students from all academic disciplines are encouraged to apply.

The application period is open now through 11:59 p.m. eastern time on Monday, February 22, 2016

Potential participants can apply individually or in teams of up to three. Applicants must submit their applications online by Monday, February 22, 2016.  Applicants who are invited to participate in CodeGS will be notified by email on or before February 29, 2016.

Why are we hosting this?

Yes, breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided.

What do I need to bring?
You will need to bring a laptop and charger.

Can we apply as a team?
You can apply individually or in teams of up to three people.  If you are applying as a team, please send an email to Code@GS.com with your team members’ first name, last name, and email address by February 22, 2016.

What type of development will I be doing?
Web development

What are the assessment criteria for the CodeGS entries?
Each entry will be reviewed and judged on the following:

  • Creativity
  • Innovation
  • Analytical skills
  • Strategic thinking
  • Practical Implementation

What is the timeline of CodeGS?
The application period for CodeGS will be open until February 22, 2016. Participants who are invited to attend will be notified by February 29, 2016. The event will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016.

What will the winners receive?
The individuals or team members who submit the top three CodeGS entries will receive prizes to be announced the day of the event.

Do I have to study/have a certain degree to apply?
No. Candidates from any degree discipline can apply.

What are the benefits to me of applying to participate in CodeGS?

Can I apply to CodeGS, as well as Goldman Sachs Career Opportunities, via the usual application route?
Yes, you can apply to both if you wish. The success of one application will not impact the other.

Does my CodeGS application affect my application for a position with the firm?
No. If you apply for an internship or full time position with Goldman Sachs, your CodeGS entry will not have any impact on your application.

Who is responsible for transportation costs?
Each participant is responsible for their own transportation costs to and from CodeGS.
