VIDEO: Meet the Goldman Sachs 2015 Summer Intern Class

This year, Goldman Sachs welcomed over 2,900 summer analysts and associates to our offices around the world with a selfie-inspired welcome video—a favorite feature of our summer intern orientations.

This popular video was created from submissions by summer analysts, associates and some senior leaders of the firm, who were asked to introduce themselves with fun personal facts and to share what they most look forward to this summer.

Our interns include someone who started a business importing goods from China at the age of 14, a ukulele player, a transatlantic sailor with a fear of spiders and someone who recently jumped out of a plane for charity.

Following the video, interns heard from senior leaders in the region, learned through educational sessions, and networked at events designed to introduce them to Goldman Sachs. These sessions and events taught them the ins and outs of their respective offices and set them up for a successful summer at the firm.

After firmwide orientation on Day 1, interns moved on to divisional orientations and technical training before joining their teams.

“Firmwide orientation was a great way to get in front of senior leaders and gain their insights in to how to have a successful summer,” said Jessica, a summer analyst in Human Capital Management. “Then the technical training that was provided was a great way to transition from classroom learning to commercial ways of thinking about the business.”

Throughout orientation, the interns also spent ample time bonding with fellow interns and networking with Goldman Sachs colleagues in ways ranging from lunches with their “buddies,” employees at the firm who serve as informal mentors, to snapping fun candid shots with one another in a photo booth during breaks.

At the conclusion of orientation, interns walk away inspired, motivated, and prepared to succeed during their summer internship in their respective regions.
