Interview Rounds
What to Expect
First round interviews for experienced professionals take place via telephone or at one of our office locations. If you are invited back for second and subsequent rounds of interviews, you will meet with numerous representatives from the division before a final hiring decision is made. During the interview process, we will look for you to demonstrate significant expertise and depth of experience in your particular professional area.
In addition, we will pay close attention to assessing your compatibility with the firm's culture.
What We Look For
There are important qualities that we believe are common across all divisions of our firm. For instance, our core competencies include the determination to succeed, leadership, teamwork, interpersonal and communications skills, analytic thinking, a willingness to learn, common sense, and enthusiasm.
We are also looking for people that have balance in their lives and know how to juggle commitments. We are interested in hearing about any part of your professional or personal experiences that you think may be relevant to the position to which you are applying.

Offer
If you complete a successful interview process with us and we feel you would make a positive addition to the Goldman Sachs team, we will extend an offer to you.
While there is no set timeframe for receiving an offer after you interview with us, we aim to notify candidates within 48-72 hours of the conclusion of the interview process. If you receive and accept an offer from us, we will then work with you on the specifics around start date, benefits and any relocation that might be required.
Moving Forward
Regardless of where you are in your career, we offer the opportunity to move ahead more rapidly than is possible at most other firms. Because Goldman Sachs has a flat organizational structure, it is difficult to identify a typical career path. We have yet to find the limits to the responsibility our best people are able to assume.
Whatever career route you choose, we thank you for considering Goldman Sachs and wish you every success with your future.
